My favorite video this year (of my own):

All the Ladies of the World - this was fun to make and I still enjoy watching it.  A very close runner up would be Texas Wants You.  I like the blending of clips from Peter’s work, historical footage (including 19th C. stuff) of Texas, and photos from San Antonio and past PWFC cons.

My least favorite video this year:
At the PWFC con I showed a Highlander vid, Geezers, that was an experiment gone wrong.  I tried to do an audio mashup with a couple of songs by The Streets.  It didn’t really work and won’t be put online anywhere.  There a runner up here, too.  I made a vid for Peter Wingfield’s character on 24 to Sharks by Morphine.  The concept was sound, I think, but it never quite worked but I still have deleted it from my hard drive.

Most successful video:
In a way, I’d have to say Texas Wants You.  The club elected to show it as one of the con opening vids. Almost forgot about Who are the Watchers. This was actually selected as one of the bonus features for the HL Season 2 blu ray set. Not a traditional vid, but tells the story of who the Watchers are in about 5 minutes. Very hard to cut it down that far. The other winners were all fan films, so my recut from series footage fills an entirely separate niche.

Video most underappreciated by the universe, in my opinion:
Maybe If Only.  This was the first time I had worked with instrumental music to let the clips tell the story.  I think it worked out really well, but the source is pretty obscure.

Most fun video:

All the Ladies of the World

Video with single sexiest moment:
All the Ladies of the World

Biggest vid fail:
Geezers

Hardest video to make:
Geezers

Most unintentionally telling video:
Texas Wants You.  I didn’t set out to make an homage to Peter and invitation to the con, but it seemed to drift that way of it’s own accord.

The things I've learned this year:
I learned to use LiveType and although it only shows up in one vid in 2010, I plan on using it for titling and credits regularly in 2011.  I think I’m also gaining a better understanding about cutting  for more effective use of motion.  Also, I set out to understand FCE better this year.  I’m getting there.

For 2011:
In a day or two I'm going to post a video from a year-long photography project that's coming to a close. There's the Festivid that I look forward to posting later this month. I'm currently working on another Highlander vid, there's the beginnings of an idea for a vid for Red, and I'd really, really like to do something with The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. And sometime I've got to do a Helm/Montoya vid for Queen of Swords.

Almost forgot to include Who are the Watchers, but I've added a download link to it now.
