vidding without clipping

Because Final Cut Pro X has a totally different user interface I decided to subscribe to lynda.com and do an online course and I'm glad I did.  One very cool thing I discovered is that you can scrub through your media and tag specific portions.  Instead of making lots of clips, imagine just adding tags to the sections that you're going to use, maybe different tags for the same bit if you're going to use it in different parts of the vid.

I've already made clips for the next vid I've got in the works, but the one after that - I'm going to try tagging.

So, did FCE not work for you, then?

It was a little sluggish after installing the new OS, but did work. But it wasn't going to be supported forever and Apple no longer updates FCE. I knew I had to move on to something eventually and right now was a good time to learn something new. VVC vids were done, Festivids is months away and the next con that I might need to do a vid for is 11 months away, so I've got plenty of time to tinker around with the software in exploratory, if unproductive experimental ways.
