It's official, I'm bound for Kansas. Some of my friends from work are shaking their heads, especially the ones who are Seattle natives. But the transplants from the midwest do get it. Looking over the ads for rental houses in Abilene, the average rents of$350-$475 have left even the detractors a bit stunned. Here in Seattle, you would have to tack on an extra $800-$1000 to those figures.
