New computer

valoiseIt was supposed to be easier, more user friendly, etc. Surely I'm not the only newcomer to Mac OSX who wonders why the hell Apple felt the need to rearrange the OS. Or perhaps I mean disarrange.
Okay, maybe I've been in a 9 year rut, but in the past changes to 7.5 and 8.6 and 9.1 were generally for the better and yet didn't fundamentally change the way things flowed and fit together. Maybe I wouldn't be so grumbly if we weren't also changing out servers and getting new computers at work as well.
At least my Mac at home is a reliable, if confusing, machine. The new PCs at work are not. Someday the sys admin people will get my user settings straightened out so I don't have to log on 2 or 3 times in order to get the damn thing to work.
