Medieval fun and games

valoiseAfter the disapointment of trying to hook-up with the SCA in Seattle, I had put reenactment on the back burner. No costuming, no recipe redaction, no more music, no embroidery. It actually cut a big hole, not just out of my social life, but also out of the wide range of things I used to do for enjoyment and private study.
So, now that I'm here in Kansas I think I'll hook up with Calontir. There's no shire right here in Abilene, but there are a couple within 45 minutes. Besides, with the internet and email it's a lot easier to interact with people from long distance than it was when i got started in the SCA in the mid-80's.
So I dusted off my remaining costumes, order some linen to make a new undertunic and I'm shopping for material for a cloak. I don't think I'll do any camping events yet, but when I do I think I'll finally spring for a period-style tent.
Heck, maybe I'll even get around to finally putting together an SCA-related food history page.
