PWFC vid contest
Dec. 14th, 2009 06:45 amFrom Harlene who is coordinating the contest, here are the rules for anyone who is interested.
RoadTrip San Antonio SongVid Competition Rules
Who May Enter: All video producers must be a member of the PWFC at the time of the con. While attendance at the con is preferred, it isn't required. Anyone submitting a video but not attending the con must arrange for a member who is attending the con to represent them. The member submitting the video must create the video; no professional editors.
Time Limit: There is a limit of 6 minutes per video. This limit is inclusive of any credits for the song and the video/photo clips utilized.
Video Submission Guidelines: All entries must be submitted to Harlene Finn no later than March 31, 2010. The vids must be .mov or .avi format. Contact Harlene if this is a problem for you. Files must be uploaded to a private server or large-file storage sites such as MediaFire, MegaUpload, Sendspace, etc. Once your file is uploaded, send an email to Harlene at webwiz at pwfc.org
with the following information:
1. Your name and region
2. The url for downloading the file
3. SongVid title, run time
4. A one- or two-sentence description which will be used to introduce your material to the audience.
Any SongVid not provided to Harlene by the deadline is ineligible to be screened at RoadTrip: San Antonio. If you prefer to submit your SongVid on a cd or dvd, email Harlene and she'll send you her mailing address. The same deadline applies to mailed submissions.
Use of clips that might be rated as "mature viewing only" such as clips from Peter's Bliss episodes are allowed. Any juxtaposition of clips and/or songs that might be suggestive of "slash" are not allowed. Any SongVid deemed "slash" by the SongVid committee will be disqualified. "Cross-over" clips from other shows are allowed. (Remember to keep your focus on Peter.)
Please bring a "just-in-case-something-goes-wrong" copy of your SongVid on a jump drive (also known as thumb drives and flash drives), cd or dvd with you to the con. Jump drives are preferred.
Video Categories:
(1) Comedy
(2) Drama
(3) Texas
You may enter multiple vids in one or all categories but you can win only once in each category.
Voting: All members at the con are eligible to be the voting audience, even the creators of the SongVids. Screening and voting will be on Friday during a pre-con session. A ballot will be provided at registration or at the pre-con session. There will be only one (1) ballot per attendee. The ballots will have a listing of those SongVids in competition.
