I've been all set to start learning how to blend clips from various Highlander episodes into videos, but I keep getting sidetracked. The old laptop I bought last summer has a newer version of iMovie on it so I bought a manual online to try and learn some of the tricks. I'd been making slideshows from photos of various cons with iMovie, thought that would be a great way to start playing with iMovie, working with creating credits and transitions and so forth. They look great on the computer, but they get compressed so much that they look awful when uploaded.

So I bought the book for that version of the iLife suite of software. Lo and behold, I started reading the thing and found out that the iPhoto on the laptop has a whole bunch of image editing features I don't have on the main desktop computer. So I transferred this version of iPhoto to the big computer and I've been going to town. All those photos that were too blue or too dark or not quite balanced, etc., etc, etc,. are now fixable! Any temptation I had to buy Photoshop is now gone. At least not for a while. Between the editing stuff in iPhoto and actually learning all the bells and whistles with my camera, hopefully my photos are going to start improving.

Really do need to start work on that vid, though. I've got the thing halfway plotted out and about a third of the clips saved and .mov files. If only the day had more hours.
