More bitching about seattle
Mar. 14th, 2004 09:47 amAn interesting article in the paper today. A columnist mentioned that a house he had formerly owned in Seattle had recently been sold. When a former neighbor of his tried to get him to guess the sale price he failed miserably. First he guessed a price that was ten times the 30-year old sale price ($260,000 versus 26,000). Wrong. It turned out that the house had sold for $485,000. From less that fifty thou to almost a half million in thirty years. And this a no-frills three bedroom home lacking a garage.
That kind of inflation is insane.
