Autumn in Seattle
Oct. 5th, 2003 10:01 amThis is the start of my 5th autumn in Seattle and it's strange how much the cooler weather seems to lift my spirits. Not that I mind the summers here; how could I when they are so mild? But fall is the natural season for hermits. Cooler, damp weather eases my guilt for not getting outside and doing something.
In the fall it just seems natural to stay inside. The garden is mostly squared away for the year and the days are progressively shorter so spending more time holed up in the study with the computer and my books in comforting.
Of course, I may feel totally different in March after months of gray days. But right now, I'm loving it.
