Beading and photography
After a long lull (most of 2007) I've started beading again, particularly using embroidery. Don't have a picture of those projects just yet, I need to work on using the macro feature on my camera and getting the light just right. I took this picture of a broach I made a little over a year ago, amber cabochon surrounded with agua and green seed beads. The light is washed out, but I like using the black velvet as a background.

I'm going to try a couple of things to get better lighting, maybe even take things to work and use the copy stand there. I'm not one for New Year's resolutions and all that, but I did kind of resolve to do more photography every week. The beauty of digital is you can practice and learn and not have to pay to develop the crappy pictures. I like the immediacy of digital, too. You can see right away what kind of results you've got.

I've become addicted to taking digital pictures of my flowers.
